Our Executive Staff
Robert Melko, President
Bob Melko has spent his entire career in the plumbing industry. He has owned and operated Bishop Plumbing since 1976 and has a staff of more than 40 employees. Bishop Plumbing provides state-of-the-art plumbing services to Chicago’s northwest suburbs and surrounding areas since 1921.
Bob is a board member of the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland and serves on the Plumbing Council’s Marketing Committee. He is President Emeritus of the Plumbing Contractor’s Association, a Trustee of Local 130’s Joint Apprenticeship Committee and Vice Chairman of the Union Affiliated Contractors (U.A.C.).
Bob was born in Chicago and raised in Des Plaines, where he is a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club. In his spare time, Mr. Melko enjoys golf and traveling.
Brian Wilk, Vice President
Brian Wilk has worked at Bishop Plumbing for 27 years, starting as a warehouse staff member and then working as a sewer work laborer before becoming an apprentice and then a journeyman plumber. Brian became foreman, then supervisor before his current position as Vice President at Bishop Plumbing.
Brian grew up in Park Ridge and Des Plaines and currently lives in Des Plaines.
Brian is recognized as an Illinois EPA cross connection control device inspector, Illinois Department of Public Health Certified Plumbing Inspector, City of Chicago Licensed Journeyman Plumber, part-time Village of Mount Prospect Plumbing Inspector, Trustee of Local 130 Legal Fund, United Association Instructor, City of Chicago Licensed Sewer and Drainlayer, and United Association Star Exam Master Plumber.
Kristina Curran, Operations Manager
Kristina Curran grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois and began working at Bishop Plumbing in 1996. Kristina started as a part-time customer service representative and general office employee, but within two months she was promoted to Office Manager and kept the position until her duties expanded and she was promoted again to Operations Manager.
As the Operations Manager of Bishop Plumbing, Kristina oversees the daily operations of the business as a whole. She monitors quality from the administrative staff to the service technicians as well as overseeing marketing plans and striving to create new marketing opportunities and philanthropic community involvement.
In 2006, Kristina won “Employee of the Year” and won a Caribbean cruise with her husband for a week (She tends to argue, though, that they were just trying to get rid of her). Kristina is married with two children – Cody and Cole – and two English Mastiffs, Dixie and Giacomo.
“The M.O.B.” – aka “Morgan the Morale Marshall”, “Oakum the Chief Operating Officer”, and “Buster the Director of HR”
Morgan is the morale booster at our office and sometimes even joins our technicians “on the road” for their service calls. Her warm smile, fun personality, and positive energy has won her the title “Morale Marshall” of Bishop Plumbing. Morgan is definitely a “people-dog” and especially loves being rubbed behind her left ear.
Oakum is the Chief Operating Officer of Bishop Plumbing. She keeps everyone on task by checking up on them at their desks and when the technicians return from service calls. She understands proper work ethic and knows the power of using treats as an incentive.
Buster is the newest member to the group and is our new Director of Human Resources. As Director of HR, Buster ensures that everyone is in good spirits and enjoying their job.
The MOB loves rowdy games of tug-of-war and catch. Not to mention rough housing a bit around the office.
