Max Needs A Home!

Meet Max.  Max is one year old and was recently rescued from a pound in Paris, Illinois by Bishop Plumbing.  The pound was going to put him down due to lack of space, but pound workers fell in love with him and were desperate to find him a home.  That's where Bishop Plumbing stepped in and offered to foster Max until we can find him a good home.

Max is a Lab/Boxer mix and according to Kristina, he is "Awesome!"  Since we brought him back on Monday, we have not heard him bark once!  He is very laid back and very gentle.  He also listens very well and has all up to date shots and has been neutered.

Max does not seem to care for male dogs that are larger than him, so he would do well in a home by himself or with smaller dogs.

If you are interested in adopting Max, please call Kristina at Bishop Plumbing by calling 847-824-1800 or emailing her at Kristina@bishopplumbing.com

Update on Max:  Max was adopted by one of Bishop's apprentices, Scott.  Scott fostered Max over the weekened and decided he couldn't part with him on Monday.  Scott even renamed Max to Chumley. Scott says that Chumley has adapted well to his new home and gets along well with Scott's other dog.  Congratulations to Scott and Chumley!!

Bishop Begins New Program: Finding Foster Homes for Dogs

Bishop Plumbing has been offering quality plumbing service for over 90 years and as the company continues to bring top service to their clients, Bishop Plumbing has embarked on a new mission that has a strong place in the hearts and minds of the owner and employees at Bishop – to find safe and loving families for dogs in need of a home.

About a year ago, Bishop Plumbing's managers, Kristina Curran and Brian Wilk bought Bob a chocolate lab that he named Oakum.  After several months with Oakum Bob felt that he wanted to adopt another dog to add to the Bishop family.  In his plight to find a dog to adopt, Bob became very affected by the amount of dogs that were in the adoption programs due to abandonment.  Bob eventually adopted Buster, but his heart still ached at the idea of all those dogs out there that needed good homes.  Just the other week, Kristina Curran was contacted regarding a couple of dogs that were in danger of being put down at a pound in Jacksonville, Illinois.  Kristina discussed this with Bob and they made the decision to rescue these dogs and place them in good homes.  They quickly developed a list of foster homes from Bishop employees and sent then sent a Bishop truck to Jacksonville to pick up these three dogs.  By that afternoon when the two black labs and one white shepherd were brought back to Bishop's office, Kristina had found them all homes.  The white shepherd was actually adopted by one of Bishop's employees and they couldn't be happier with the dogs!

Bishop Plumbing is now starting an initiative to inform their community of clients about the need for safe homes for dogs who are currently roaming the streets or housed in pounds until the time comes for them to be put down.  If you are interested in either adopting or fostering one of these dogs and rescuing them from these fatal possibilities, please contact Kristina Curran at Bishop Plumbing by calling her at 847-824-1800.

Bishop Plumbing Participates in the WGN Toy Drive!

This morning, Bishop Plumbing converted one of its trucks into a sled like Santa's as it piled in toys upon toys to bring to the WGN-TV studio in Chicago for their annual Drive-Thru Toy Drive.  Bishop Plumbing technicians and staff members, as well as Bishop Plumbing customers donated dozens of toys to give to the Toy Drive for the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago.  To see footage of the Toy Drive visit the WGN-TV website at: www.wgntv.com.  Those who helped with the drop off included Brian Wilk, Brad Goble, and Andrew - who we will now be calling "Santa's Elves" around the Bishop Plumbing office.  Thanks, guys!

The 2nd campaign for the Warms Hands/Full Heart Food Drive comes to a close

Bishop Plumbing had another successful campaign for the Warm Hands/Full Heart food drive. This year's food drive ran from October 1, 2009 and just ended on February 1st.  Bishop Plumbing technicians collected 10 items of acceptable food and/or paper products from our customers in exchange for a $30.00 discount.  Bishop has found that their customers were really excited to be involved in such a great cause and many of their customers were generous enough to donate more items than was necessary.  A total of 2041 items were collected during this campaign.  All items were donated to the Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect and Elk Grove food pantries.  A BIG thank you to all of Bishop's wonderful customers for making this a success!
